Joel Ready
Joel Ready is one of CMC's young producers. Joel got his start in video production by attending the Carroll County Career & Technology Center's video production class. While attending this class he was trained and worked in all areas of video production. He also appeared as on-air talent in a number of the school's news programs in addition to working behind the camera as director. Joel continued his video training by completing a CMC internship where he worked on a number of great video projects including a promo for Harry's Diner that aired during the CMC President's Day Auction. Joel also appeared as on air talent for the CMC 2006 Open House.
After completing his internship Joel became a member of the CMC and produced a program informing Carroll County residents about The City on the Hill Conference. This was a short documentary about a youth leadership conference where students learn about politics and the inner goings-on of government.
Matthew Roe
Matthew Roe is one of CMC's young community producers. After attending the CMC orientation and Video Production Workshop, Matt was eager to start working on his first CMC program. Matt, along with help from his high school friends, produced, wrote and directed "Remedy", a psychological drama about Rose, a girl who suffers from multiple personality disorder and is sent to a mental hospital. There she falls in love with a caring physician who must fight between his love for Rose and the duties of his job. The short film was masterfully shot using CMC video equipment and Matt gave the piece a distinctive edge in post production by applying a distorted black and white filter. The film was accompanied by a brilliant score that Matt composed himself using CMC's editing software Soundtrack Pro. Watch Matt's short film, Remedy.
Matt is currently working on a documentary about civil rights called "Fighting for Life: America's Struggle for Civil Rights". Matt and his friend and fellow producer Eric Rhodes, went on a bus tour visiting historical civil rights locations and attending conventions. This tour was partly sponsored by the Ira and Mary Zepp Center for Nonviolence and Peace education in Westminster, Maryland.
Matt is also working on a comedy called "Mafia: The True Story". He is working with his friends on making a hilarious satire on the lives of the Mafioso. Tony Soprano better be looking over his shoulder because no mobster is going to be safe from Matt's next great short film!
