CMC Gets Ready for Big Web Launch
By Staff Reporter: Sean Galloway
April 7, 2008 -
The Community Media Center of Carroll County (CMC) is approaching some very exciting times in April. Two major events include the 2008 "Vollies", a competition that allows local producers to win the coveted award for their contributions to community television. The other event is the launch of the Media Center's new website - a venture that's been in the making for sometime now and is close to completion.
Jen Heatwole, the Community Media Center's web designer says, "It's going to have an updated look, user-friendly navigation and a lot more functionality than the current website - including features such as a searchable video library of CMC programs, featured programs, and an up-to-date crew search area for current community producers."
The website is set to officially launch in early April. According to Heatwole the toughest part about getting the site together is catering to different needs and expectations.
"Coming up with the overall look of it--satisfying what everybody wants has been the toughest part," says Heatwole.
The Media Center has also brought contractor InfoPathways into the mix to create some of the data-driven parts of the website such as the video library and online forms.
"The new website will continue to grow as the CMC does." added Heatwole.
Be sure to check out the CMC's new website when it launches on April 7th.
