March 31, 2008 -
The Community Media Center of Carroll County (CMC) continues to open its doors to both certified and aspiring area producers. The latest move comes by way of the "Certified Producers' Forums." A number of scheduled sessions that will allow CMC staff to help community producers learn and improve on skills needed; to put out quality television for channel 19. "This is the time when they get to talk with other people to learn more about how to make a quality production," said CMC Operations Manager Tony Hooper.
The forum will not only serve as a chance for the group to learn from CMC staff; but it also gives them the chance to learn from each other. "It's a venue for our community producers and members here who are producing programs to come together to network with one another, it gives them a chance to bounce ideas off one another," added Hooper.
Producers' Forums have been offered through the CMC for sometime now, but the latest sessions have been handled by Volunteer/Intern coordinator Kevin Walla who, according to Hooper, is trying to put a new spin on the sessions. "We're starting to try to have speakers come from the outside production world who have had a little bit of success." continued Hooper. "We want them to come and showcase their work, what they‘ve done successfully and speak to our producers and give them tips and pointers."
The next Producers' Forum is scheduled for Monday, March 31. For more information log onto cmcmd.tv.
