Sign up for a free bimonthly CMC Orientation. This will help you decide how you want to get involved.
Become a member of the Community Media Center. As member, once trained, you'll be able to reserve equipment for your productions.
Attend the Level 1 – Basic Certification class. The Level 1 – Basic Certification class takes place 10am-2pm the Saturday following the CMC orientation and is free with a CMC membership. The Level 1 – Basic Certification class certifies you to use the basic level CMC Camera and Community Edit and to help as camera operators on CMC studio and field productions.
Attend Level 2 – Advanced Certification in different workshops to obtain certification for more advanced CMC equipment such as light kits, field switcher, advanced editing programs, etc. The Level 2 – Advanced Certification workshops are held the alternate months of CMC's Orientation.
After completion of Basic Certification, at least 3 Advanced Certification workshops, and completion of 3 programs for Channel 19 a CMC member is eligible to become a CMC Certified Producer. CMC Certified producers will have the opportunity to work with staff in developing and producing special programs and projects to benefit the CMC facility and its non-profit partners.
