Rob Hatch is the new Operations Manager at the CMC. He is excited by the opportunity to serve all Carroll Countians in this capacity. He produces the 48 Hour Film Project in Baltimore and Portland, OR and has worn many hats over the course of his career. Before coming to the CMC, he has worked as a producer, videographer, educator, and musician and has worked on documentaries, video art, short films, feature films, and corporate productions. He has made videos for the Baltimore Museum of Art, the American Visionary Art Museum, worked at National Geographic TV and at public access stations in Arlington VA and Washington DC. In his spare time, he loves spending time with his wife Nona and their 2 year old son, Freeman. Hatch is pretty fond of movies, music, books, and the arts. mfell@carrollmediacenter.org

Hi! I'm Mike Fell, Production Services guy at the Media Center. I will be a floor director, cameraman, editor, and all around video dude at the Center.  I was a freelance editor and cameraman, but I have seen the light and am glad to be here full time.

I graduated from Towson University with a B.S. in Mass Communications. Since then I have worked in public relations, advertising and sports video here and in New York (but don't hold that against me).

In my "spare time" I like hanging out with my kids, fixing things around the house, TV (of course) and trying to understand girl's field hockey (my daughter is on a team).

I am looking forward to helping you with any video challenges you may encounter and together we can make your project the best it can be.

Sean Galloway Sean Galloway
Production Technician

sgalloway@carrollmediacenter.org

Sean joined the Community Media Center in November 2007, taking the position of Studio and Cablecast Coordinator.

He grew up in Baltimore, Maryland where a large portion of his family still resides. The oldest of seven children, Sean found himself in a very competitive environment that would give him the drive to eventually become one of Maryland's most memorable athlete's in state history.

Later at the University of West Virginia, he would use that same competitive drive to enter the world of broadcast journalism; learning the ins and outs of the trade. Following a stint at W.V.U. Sean joined the United States Navy in 2000, serving on one ship and many operational platforms around the world. Covering a wide range of stories seen around the world; in fact his ship, USS Arctic, was the first on scene in the Persian Gulf following the attacks on the world trade center in 2001.

Sean went on to produce many award winning news magazine shows and productions for the U.S. Navy, upholding standards military reporters continue to follow today.

After leaving the Navy in 2006, he spent one year working in Raleigh and Fayetteville North Carolina as a live reporter and videographer for CNN affiliate News 14 Carolina.

He says his current position with the CMC is a delightful challenge because it's his first television job that works primarily behind the camera.

In his spare time Sean loves to cook and spend time with his wife and three daughters. He also plays semi-pro football for the "Baltimore Bulls", a local team out of Hereford, Maryland.

jmayola@carrollmediacenter.org

Hi, I'm Jim Mayola, coordinator of the CMC History Project. My job at the Community Media Center is to collect video stories from people who have had experiences in Carroll County. It is a great job, because I get to meet and talk to some wonderful people who share their stories about the way the county used to be. These stories are archived on our website so that others can view them and can learn about our history.

I live near the Union Mills Homestead and retired from the Carroll County Department of Social Services two years ago. I just received my second degree (in music) from McDaniel College and am an avid trombonist.

If you would like to share your story, or know someone whom I should talk to, please contact me at the Community Media Center.

Martin Pukownik Martin Pukownik
IT/Equipment Coordinator

410-386-4415 x104
equipment@carrollmediacenter.org

Growing up in Poland, young Martin expressed an interest in music, film and electronic devices by learning to use and disassemble toy keyboards, cameras, clocks, radios, etc. As the years went by, he got to see other parts of the world and acquired some wisdom and patience, or at least enough that he now reassembles his toys as cheerfully as he takes them apart.

Martin spends most of the time trying to balance his nerdy and artistic sides. Making music and figuring out how things work are still his main passions. He's always looking for ways to encourage creative collaborations and to help artists use new tools. He welcomes any comments, questions, requests and complaints related to equipment or the CMC's studio.
